Memberships and dues

Plans, charging a member, renewals, pausing, changing plans and cancelling.

A membership plan is what you sell: a price, how often it renews, and how long after a missed payment someone is still in good standing.

Create a plan

Under Billing → Plans, add a plan with a name, price, and interval (monthly, quarterly or annual). Grace days decide how long a lapsed membership stays active before it's marked past due.

Put a member on it

  1. Open the member and assign the plan.
  2. Send them a card link, or add their card at the desk. It becomes their default card.
  3. Press Charge Now to take the first payment and start the cycle.

After that it renews on its own: Stripe memberships renew through Stripe, and Square memberships are charged by the nightly run in your gym's time zone.

Changing things later

  • Change plan — the new price applies from the next renewal, so nobody is charged a difference today.
  • Pause — collection stops until you mark them active again.
  • Cancel at period end— they keep training until the period they've paid for runs out.
  • Cancel — stops billing immediately.

When a payment fails

The membership is marked past due and the member is told. Stripe keeps retrying on its schedule; Square memberships are retried by the nightly run. As soon as one succeeds the membership goes back to active. Nothing is cancelled without you.
